 What do you like, Sir (or Madam)? We will build a machine to your specification. However it would be best to first discuss exactly what you wish to do in the way of cycling, now and later. Riders quickly expand their horizons once they have gain experience and ability and what may have suited them at the outset may soon prove to be inadequate. Therefore, our suggestions will be aimed at providing you with the best machine for you present and future needs, always bearing in mind your budget! Cycling equipment is the same as any other technology; You get what you pay for, and; The best always ends up the cheapest in the end. The best quality components will always last the longest. However items will wear out and need replacing. Modern hubs are sealed against ingress of water and dirt and rarely need servicing. The pulley wheels on rear derailleurs, along with chains* need regular cleaning if they are going to last and perform well. Handlebar tape should be considered a consumable and replaced annually - at a cost of less than £10, it will brighten up a bike. The salt laid down in the Winter months is an aggressive corroding agent and will spoil alloy components very quickly unless it is removed by washing with a suitable detergent. Clean water will never harm a bicycle. We will be pleased to undertake an annual (Spring) servicing of your machine to make sure it functions to its full potential. * See note on chains on our accessory page. |

DEDACCIAI SCANDIUM/ CARBON frame, Time carbon forks. Campagnolo Centaur Ten-Speed Groupset, Triple Chainset. Mavic Open Pro rims, 32 hole. Vredestein 700x23 tyres. Magnum Carbon seat pin with Selle Italia Flite saddle. A near top-end machine for an older rider, hence the "granny-ring".
"Ruxley" Audax style frame with mudguard clearances. Carbon forks. Campagnolo Centaur, ten-speed Groupset, triple chainset, 30-40-50 rings. ITM 'bars, stem and seat-pin. Selle Italia saddle. Mavic Open Pro Rims, 36 hole. Continental "Gatorskin" 700x25 tyres. An all-weather machine, suitable for long-distance rides.
